about

The highly-anticipated album title ‘Limitation’ was chosen from an online thesaurus while considering other words with similar meanings. This groundbreaking choice of syllables helps the listener picture the implied mystery and intrigue surrounding the album - specifically an emotional journey through self-imposed constraints. This genre-transcending title also works visually - its length being close to that of the artist’s name, when written together, conveys a balance that is gripping from start to finish.

“I try to make music when I have time, but I don’t always have time. This album was specifically written during the times when I did have time, and not the times when I didn’t have any. I think this reveals something profound about what you hear when you listen to the album - you’re not hearing any of the tracks I wrote at those other times, you can’t, they don’t exist because I was doing something else.

I’ve wanted to put something of myself into this album... I recorded myself breathing like James Lavelle did on that first Unkle album. It sounded crap so I left it off, but I think in a way you can still hear it in there.” - Armatures

By encapsulating the boundless complexities of the human experience within the confines of deliberate limitations, this flawlessly executed album becomes a transcendent exploration of the inherent beauty that emerges when creativity encounters constraints. Each tone, each glitchy texture, meticulously crafted within the limitations, serves as a testament to the artist's audacious pursuit of the sublime. 'Limitation' is not merely a masterpiece of an album, there’s also some artwork and a logo, and maybe one day, a T-Shirt.

“A sublime album with a mesmerising, late-night ambience, with sturdy yet gentle beats underpinning softly glitching machine music, reminiscent of the early work of Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada without the hauntological aspects.” - Norman Records (March 2024)

"Musically, it’s in the wonky dancefloor section of your local record shop. I’ve had the Morse code beats and shuddering chords of ‘Bonds’ on heavy rotation.” - Moonbuilding Magazine (March 2024)
